SUMMARY:Gulf Coast Players Presents: Black Moses and Other Tales
DESCRIPTION:Gulf Coast Players presents\, Black Moses and Other Tales\, a storytelling showcase written\, produced\, and performed by students of the GCSC Theatre Club.  \n\n\n\nStories include a fictional account of Harriet Tubman; Halfway Home by Kaiden Ordoqui – an examination of the effects of PTSD in the life of a veteran; a Closer Look by Dawn Duvall – a haunting modern fable about family; and more. \n\n\n\nThe club’s faculty advisor\, Professor Vincent Pelligrino\, is excited about the opportunity for students to create their own work: “It’s so important for students to create their own opportunities\, whether it’s writing\, producing\, acting\, or directing – being multifaceted as a theatre maker is vital to making it as a professional\, and we are thrilled they get the opportunity to practice those skills here at Gulf Coast.” \n\n\n\nEvent details: \n\n\n\n\nThe showcase will take place on February 28 and March 1\, 2025\, at 7:30 PM (CST)\n\n\n\nSeating is limited\, so arrive early. (Doors open at 7:00 PM)\n\n\n\nPresented in the Amelia Center Theatre Lab on the GCSC Panama City campus.\n\n\n\nTickets: $10 (cash or card) at the door\n\n\n\n\nProceeds will benefit the Gulf Coast Players Club\, which provides activities\, professional workshops\, and travel for GCSC theatre students. SUMMARY:GCSC’s Public Safety Division to Hold an Interprofessional Education Event
DESCRIPTION:Gulf Coast State College will hold an Interprofessional Education (IPE) event on its North Bay Campus on Friday\, March 7\, 2025\, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST. \n\n\n\nStudents from the Nursing\, Health Sciences\, and Public Safety divisions\, in conjunction with the Unmanned Vehicle Systems (UVS) and Digital Media programs\, will participate in a shared simulation event to strengthen inter-professional communication skills\, clinical proficiency\, and collaboration among the various disciplines.  More than 500 students and over 50 faculty and staff members are expected to participate in the event. \n\n\n\nThe event will simulate a helicopter crash in an open-air venue resulting in simulated patients with respiratory distress\, trauma\, orthopedic\, cardiac\, and burn type injuries.
