SUMMARY:GCSC Presents Transference
DESCRIPTION:Sculptors and potters take on the challenge of two-dimensional media. \n\n\n\nGCSC’s Visual & Performing Arts Division presents “Transference”\, an exhibition featuring work by ceramic artists Molly Bishop\, Carole Epp\, TJ Erdahl\, Tammy Marinuzzi\, Ian Petrie\, and Michelle Summers. \n\n\n\nWhile these artists work primarily in clay\, all of their work has a strong graphic/illustrative component. It is that illustrative component that will be the focus of the exhibit. To that end the artists were asked to put away the clay and grab a piece of paper. The challenge was to focus on the image as the end goal not as decoration for a three-dimensional object. The work in the exhibit is the result of that challenge. \n\n\n\n“Transference” will run from October 13 to November 10\, 2023\, with an opening reception on October 13\, 2023\, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Amelia Center Gallery (AC112). This exhibition is free to attend and open to the community. \n\n\n\n\nGallery hours: Monday – Thursday\, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.\, and Friday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.\n\n\n\nLocation: Amelia Center Gallery (AC112)\n\n\n\n\nFor more information\, please visit gulfcoast.edu/arts\, or contact Pavel Amromin at pamromin@gulfcoast.edu\, 850-872-3886.
