DESCRIPTION:The City of Lynn Haven is excited to announce the return of its Spring Concert Series every Friday starting March 15th\, 2024. DESCRIPTION:Gulf Coast State College will hold a Spring Interprofessional Education (IPE) event on its North Bay Campus on Friday\, March 8\, 2024\, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CST. \n\n\n\nAll students from the nursing\, health sciences\, and public safety divisions\, in conjunction with the unmanned vehicle systems (UVS) and digital media programs\, will conduct an interprofessional simulation event to strengthen communication skills\, clinical proficiency\, and collaboration among the various disciplines. More than 500 students and over 50 faculty and staff members are expected to participate in the event. \n\n\n\nThe event will simulate a fiery bus crash resulting in simulated patients with smoke inhalation\, respiratory distress\, trauma\, and burn-type injuries. There will also be several mock fatalities to simulate patient identification practices using dental forensic science. The event will start at 10:00 a.m. with a presentation of the flag and the singing of the National Anthem at Henry Brooks Memorial Walking Park\, located at 3529 E 3rd Street Springfield\, Florida 32401. \n\n\n\nWe are asking for your support for our event with a donation to our fundraising campaign. This year all proceeds will go towards the City of Springfield Event Fund\, allows us to provide the community with free events throughout the year. Our Fall Event Series originally began in 2016 as the Public Safety Fall Festival\, and was expanded in 2023 to include a movie series. In 2023 we averaged 100 people at each movie\, and approximately 1\,500 people attended the Fall Festival. In 2023\, we started our Sliding Into Summer event. The event featured five water slides\, free hot dogs and drinks\, and games. The event was attended by approximately 700 people.

DESCRIPTION:The Visual & Performing Arts Division of Gulf Coast State College presents “Inconceivable” by Poppy Garcia. Garcia’s work is a combination of painting\, collage\, and a healthy dose of pop culture references. He uses a palette reminiscent of a Florida sunset and visual elements inspired by esoteric iconography\, classic cartoons\, and early Chicano Art. In “Inconceivable”\, Garcia examines our relationship to media and popular culture\, the role it plays in constructing our sense of a history\, and how we use that history to build a collective future. \n\n\n\nPoppy Garcia is an artist and curator from the Gulf Coast of Florida\, where they currently live and work.
