DESCRIPTION:The Wall That Heals \n\n\n\nThe Bay County Veterans Council is honored to Host the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall\, “The Wall That Heals” in Bay County this November. \n\n\n\nThe Wall That Heals honors the 58\,281 service members who lost their lives and all those who served defending our country during the Vietnam War.  A traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington\, D.C.\, the exhibit consists of The Wall That Heals replica and the Mobile Education Center.  This three-quarter scale replica is 375 feet in length and stands 7.5 feet high at its tallest point. \n\n\n\nThe exhibit is free to the public and will be on display at the Callaway Recreational Complex\, Callaway FL.  The Wall That Heals will arrive under motorcycle escort on November 12th 2024\, and will be open 24 hours a day beginning Thursday\, November 14th\, until closing Sunday\, November 17th\, at 2:00 p.m. \n\n\n\nOf the 1\,280 names inscribed from Florida\, twenty-three (23) are from Bay County\, and six (6) are from Gulf County.  One of the prominent names from Port St. Joe is Clifford Chester Sims\, a Medal of Honor recipient and namesake for the State Veterans Nursing Home in Callaway. \n\n\n\nBringing The Wall That Heals to Bay County is a significant endeavor\, one that demands both effort and financial support. Your host is the Historical Society of Bay County\, It will be held Friday\, August 16\, 9-11 a.m. at the Bay County History Museum\, 133 Harrison Avenue. Again\, a special artifact will be brought out for viewing on that day only. Emphasis this month will be on the Ritz/Martin Theatre\, which is due to be renovated starting next month! The public is requested to bring any memorabilia\, especially photographs\, on the theatre to share with the society and the City of Panama City.

SUMMARY:GCSC Visual and Performing Arts Hosting Annual Art Gallery and Holiday Concerts
DESCRIPTION:Gulf Coast State College’s Visual & Performing Arts Division is hosting three upcoming events for the public to enjoy: the Seventeenth Annual Cup Show\, a national ceramics exhibition\, and two holiday concerts featuring GCSC’s music ensembles. Both events are free and open to the public. \n\n\n\n17th Annual Cup Show: Form and Function \n\n\n\nThis nationally juried show is a survey of the wide variety of approaches to contemporary ceramics through the lens of the most intimate and accessible vessel\, the cup. The central theme of the exhibition is the function and concept of the drinking vessel\, including its relation to history\, politics\, craft\, technology\, utility and narrative. The juror of the show this year is Martha Grover. \n\n\n\nThe exhibit opens with a reception on Friday\, November 15\, 2024\, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. CST and runs through December 6\, 2024\, in the Amelia Center Gallery (Room 112). \n\n\n\nGallery Hours: \n\n\n\n\nMonday – Thursday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.\n\n\n\nFriday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.\n\n\n\n\nHoliday Concerts: Jazz Band\, Singing Commodores\, Concert Chorale & Concert Band \n\n\n\nEnjoy GCSC’s holiday concerts\, starting with the Jazz Band and Singing Commodores on Friday\, November 22\, 2024\, at 7:30 p.m.\, followed by the Concert Chorale and Concert Band on Sunday\, November 24\, 2024\, at 2:30 p.m.  Join us as we showcase our Gulf Coast State College music ensembles. DESCRIPTION:The City of Lynn Haven is excited to announce the return of its annual Fall Concert Series\, beginning September 20 and continuing through October 25. This year\, responding to popular demand\, the concerts will take place every Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sharon Sheffield Park\, located at 901 Ohio Avenue\, Lynn Haven\, FL. \n\n\n\nThe 2024 lineup includes String Theory (9/20)\, The Gr8ful Dads & the Foxy Vox (9/27)\, Cadillac Willy (10/4)\, Thomas Merritt Band (10/11)\, Scratch 2020 (10/18)\, and True Soul (10/25). \n\n\n\nThanks to the generous support from our sponsors—Baker Metal Works\, Dewberry\, Flooring Depot—and our partnership with iHeart Media\, these concerts are free to the public! Each event features a variety of musical genres from local and regional artists\, along with food trucks and yard games for visitors to enjoy.
