DESCRIPTION:The Ambassadors Committee is one of the Chamber’s most active committees. They assist the Chamber in greeting new members and conducting grand openings and ribbon cuttings. This is a great committee to join as a new member as it introduces you to your fellow members and allows you to network your business with those new to the Chamber. \n\n\n\nMission: To serve as the official diplomatic representatives of the Bay County Chamber of Commerce coordinating groundbreakings\, grand openings\, and other interactions between the Chamber\, our membership and the public. \n\n\n\nResponsibilities and Benefits: Pay an additional fee of$35 per year. Serve as an official diplomatic representative of the Bay County Chamber. Greet and participate in grand openings\, ground breakings\, ribbon cuttings and Chamber events such as First Friday and Business After Hours. \n\n\n\nAttend monthly Ambassador meeting. SUMMARY:Coast Guard Community Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:On October 26\, an official Coast Guard Community Ceremony will be held at the Panama City Marina (1 Harrison Ave\, Panama City) at 1 p.m. Coast Guard Commandant\, Adm. Linda Fagan is scheduled to bestow this honor to Bay County. The community is invited to celebrate this historic moment in Bay County. \n\n\n\nIn June of last year\, the Bay County Chamber applied to designate Bay County as a Coast Guard Community. The application package included: \n\n\n\n– Letters of support from each of our municipalities as well as the county– Letter from our federal and state elected officials\, including a letter from Congressman Dunn– Letters from other community stakeholders– Pages of specific examples of this community support Coast Guard and military families. \n\n\n\nThe application goes through a lengthy approval process\, including a review by Congress and the Commandant of the US Coast Guard. In August of 2023\, Bay County was official approved as a Coast Guard Community. \n\n\n\nThe Coast Guard City program was established by Congress in 1998 to recognize the support local governments and communities provide to Coast Guard members and their families. There are currently 30 Coast Guard Cities nationwide. \n\n\n\nMore information about Coast Guard cities can be found at https://www.uscg.mil/Community/cities/.
